Google with Saatchi Gallery is going to organise Google Photography Prize contest. This contest is open for all students across the world who are 18 years or older. The deadline for submitting your photos is January 31, 2012.
There are 10 different categories defined for submission. You can go for any one of these categories, Me, Food, Travel, Fashion, Action, Street, Sport, Night, Sound/Silence and Point of View.
A single student can have only one entry. You need to be pick one category out of ten available. However, you can submit up to eight shots for your chosen categories against your entry.
Prizes
Well! no doubt your photos will be displayed to million of people online. But there are some other great prizes to won.
- Top 100 Entries – A Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone for each.
- Top 10 Finalists – Finalists’ work will be shown at Saatchi Gallery, London for two months in 2012 alongside Out of Focus, a major photography exhibition, and win a trip to London to attend the exhibition opening event with a friend.
- Grand Prize – In addition to the exhibition at Saatchi Gallery, London the winner will go on a once-in-a-lifetime photography trip to a destination of their choice with a professional photography coach.
Guidelines for Submission
Shots can be submitted in any file format. Shots can be taken by any equipment, no matter whether it is a HD camera or a simple mobile phone. The only restriction is on size: Resize your photos to 2048 pixels along the longest edge when uploading to G+. However also keep your originals as these will be needed if you make the final shortlist!.
