To enhance security Microsoft has restricted users other then owner of file or folder to access or modify it. Hence incase if you need to access, modify or delete such files or folder you need to take ownership of that item. In Windows 7 file/folder modification is not not allowed for users other then the owner of file or folder. You might have faced problems related to ownership. Manually taking ownership of files or folders in Windows 7 or Vista is a multistep lengthy task. Here is a single step solution of this problem. (Works for Windows 7, Windows Vista)
This will also add “Take Ownership” option in right-click context menu of files and folders. It simply a windows registry hack.
Download and unzip the files contained in the zipfile. Double click the InstallTakeOwnership.reg file. Accept any prompts if coming and you have done. Restart not required.
When you need to remove this registry tweak, double click the RemoveTakeOwnership.reg file and go through the prompts. It will remove this tweak from your computer.
