• There are 4.2 billion texters worldwide.
• In 2010, 6.1 trillion SMS text messages were sent. It was 1.8 trillion in 2007.
• This translates that 193,430 SMS per second were sent in 2010.
• 48 million people worldwide have cellphones but no electricity.
• 1.7 billion people have phones but no bank account.
